Green day in ‘t Zand, 2025 | Saturday 8 November, 2025
Zandbewoners works hard to increase the greenery and biodiversity in ‘t Zand. We do this by organising green activities for the whole neighbourhood twice a year, during NLdoet (in March) and during the Green day (in November). This year we are organising the second edition of the Green day in ‘t Zand!
You can sign up the help and/or request free plants for street gardens. You can also let us know if you are interested in adopting a tree garden or a greenery area for maintenance. Do you have another good and green idea for the future? Don’t hesitate to let us know!
A few important things to know about this offer:
- You can sign up to help in the morning and/or in the afternoon. You can join us for a free lunch if you help during the morning or afternoon, but let us know if you are joining for the lunch.
- Je kunt alleen gratis planten aanvragen voor groen in de openbare ruimte, zoals gevel-, container- en/of boomtuintjes. Aanvragen voor privé voor- of achtertuinen en/of balkons komen niet aanmerking.
- Adopting a tree garden and/or greenery area goes through the municipality, with help of the neighbourhood association.

What will we do?
- Autumn clean in the OMNII garden – Veemarkt 2F
- Planting new greenery in the Maijweg
- Binding rose bushes and and place wooden rain barrels in the vicinity of Sint Luciaplein.
- Helping neighbours who need help with their garden
- Planting façade gardens around the Zayaz flat in the Boschveldweg and the Peellandstraat
The morning programme is from 9h00 – 12h00 and the afternoon program is from 13h00 until 17h00 at the latest.
From 12h00 until 13h00 you can get a delicious free lunch at OMNII.
Between 16h00 and 17h00 the green waste in ‘t Zand will be picked up.
