What?
Themes from ‘t Zand are discussed at the Zandcafé. This first edition was about Jewish residents during the Second World War. Here, Paul Glaser told the story of his aunt, Roosje Glaser. She was a dance teacher who lived in ‘t Zand, and she survived several concentration camps.

Ton de Klein and Jo Kutchinsky from the Struikelstenen ’s-Hertogenbosch Foundation were also at the Zandcafé. They discussed the organisation’s efforts in our neighbourhood and city to commemorate the Jewish residents who perished. They also explained how, together with the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, they have placed 249 Struikelstenen in honour of all Jewish residents who died during the Second World War.

Maarten and Marie José from the Paadjesmakers were also present with their walking guide: “Langs de struikelstenen in ‘s-Hertogenbosch” (past the Struikelstenen in ‘s-Hertogenbosch). They sold this walking guide during the break.
